Introduction
地藏王菩薩消怨亲債主	Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (Di Zhang Pu sa) Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva of Great Aspiration, is one of the most well-known Bodhisattva in Chinese Mahayana Buddhism. He is also known as Di Zhang Wang Pusa in Chinese and commonly translated as Earth Store Bodhisattva. His name means "the one who encompasses the earth". Earth means stillness, hardness, stability, vastness and versatility. When his mother passed away, he made offerings and dedicated the merits to his mother and saved his mother from hell. Bodhisattva is also known for his great vow to help beings in all realms to gain enlightenment before he would become a Buddha. He is also tasked to teach the Dharma to all beings during the time between the passing of the Gautama Buddha and the arrival of Maitreya Buddha. He is also often regarded as the bodhisattva of hell-beings. He also known as “DaYuan DiZhang Pusa” or “Bodhisattva King Kṣitigarbha of the Great Vow," to his pledge, as recorded in the sutras, to take responsibility for the instruction of all beings in the six worlds in the era between the parinirvana of the Buddha and the rise of Maitreya. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is one of the Four Great Bodhisattva in Buddhism, is the Bodhisattva with the greatest vow. Ksitigarbha vowed that as long as there was still one soul in Hell, he would not become a Buddha. As there are always souls being punished, he has never attained buddhahood. Ksitigarbha bodhisattva has a deep relationship with living beings of the earth. He makes people live in peace, improve their health, free from disease and all crops grow well. Ksitigarbha is responsible to relieve people from their worries and guide them to enlightenment.
